octette

i am crocheting my very first piece of clothing. it is a short sleeved shirt called “cupcake” from the stitch n bitch crochet book. i’m not sure how i feel about it. so far i’ve had to rip it out a bunch of times, and i even did something i swore i’d never do: a gauge swatch. my gauge is funny; my stitches are really tall and squished together, so each row is about a half inch tall, instead of a quarter inch tall. i had to go down two needle sizes from the recommended size, and i am still modifying the garment b/c of the gauge. it sucks and is annoying. YET I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED. i’ve been crocheting since i was six years old; it is certainly not going to defeat me NOW.
