2008 12 27 (you held me down in this starless city)

manicure and pedicure today at a new nail place. they did meticulous work.

i woke up early this morning and did a little packing. it’s so overwhelming; i would much rather sit on the couch and stare at the ceiling. i swept the kitchen, too, and last night i scrubbed the stove for 45 minutes, and now it gleams.

the part i hate the most about cleaning is having to take the garbage out. i know that’s the stupidest thing ever, but i hate it. i wish i had someone here who would take all the garbage out for me.

i’m about a third of the way into jane eyre, and i like it a lot. it’s different from everything else i’ve read this year, and i like that about it.

i was supposed to go to the post office today, but while i was having my nails painted, the skies opened up, and it’s been raining for the last hour or so. i also want a burrito, but i’m not driving in the crashing rain.

i’ve spent the last few days worried about being sick and chugging theraflu. either it worked or i was never sick to begin with, because i’m feeling a lot better today.

  1. I’m so glad you’re liking it! I wanted to ask you about it the other night, but was afraid that you might not.

I am so glad you are liking Jane Eyre. I feel as if she is a friend of mine. A frumpy friend, but a friend none the less.

And were did you get such a good pedicure and how much did it cost?

my excellent pedicure was at someplace called “hollywood nails” or something like that, and it was on manchester, in that little cute shopping center right between kingshwy and hampton.
