i forgot to take a picture yesterday.
here is a picture of the bay on my walk home from the train station tonight.

2008 11 21 (i am no mermaid, i am no fisherman’s slave)

when i was in the eighth grade, my art class participated in a neighborhood beautification project. everyone in the class painted a tile, and the tiles were put up on a wall outside the train station. the theme was “inside the bay” and we all drew things that were inside sheepshead bay. no one drew [...]

2008 11 20 (i am told this store is only open at night, seriously.)

isn’t “vampire freaks” kind of redundant? just wondering.

in new york. have already eaten two bagels. and pie. there was a lot of pie tonight at old devil moon. i was going to take a taxi into brooklyn, but then my dad called and said that he was going to drive through manhattan on his way [...]

2008 06 16 (diana)

today i headed out of my mother’s house early and met up with shira on 28th street, grabbed her keys, and hit her apartment. i was joined by diana and jozelle; while shira ran around, i hung out with diana and jo, and once they abandoned me, i wrote 4,000 words of story.

2008 06 13 (she was a good little girl only she was always losing her pocket handkerchief)

i am in new york. i do love st louis and all the thngs i do there and the people [...]

2008 05 15 (doughnuts!)

jozelle sent me six doughnuts from dunkin’ donuts. they are a little smushed, but nevertheless delicious like only dunkin’ donuts are. for the first time since moving here, i am desperately desperately homesick for new york city.

seriously, dude dressed up like the statue of liberty, wandering broadway near flushing avenue, handing out fliers.

the up escalators at the 53/lexington v stop at 11:05 am.
my doctor doubled my pills for me (less than i’d hoped for, more than i’d expected), and it cost the same as the single doses. insurance is fired.
i wish i’d taken a picture of what it’s like going down the escalators. it is basically like [...]

the sign across from me on the train on my way to the russian vodka room. free abortion alternatives! se habla espanol!

walking home in the “snow” down bogart, listening to “icebound stream” and wishing i could hold a thunderhead in my heart.
